I’ve been blogging since 1995, however, since there were no blog sites then, I simply e-mailed everyone I knew.. A few years ago, I finally made the leap and posted my eclectic bunch of essays on my own blog site. Believe it or not, I am a Milkman’s Son. That doesn’t mean I am the unfortunate bastard result of a tryst my mother had one early morning. My father was a member of that long-gone profession. I warn you, I rant and rave in some of these blogs. In others I go on about trips we’ve taken, and in still others I relate stories I’ve gathered through the years. |

Books I Love I am an incessant and eclectic reader of books. My shelves and several boxes are full of them. I gather ideas and thoughts from these books that I use in training and development...and not just the usual business books. There are lessons to be had in many a tale with metaphors galore for our work-a-day lives. Here are a some I’ve read lately that I hope you either have or will enjoy: The Lost City of Z by David Graham A tale of deadly obsession in the Amazon A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson—Science in terms that will make you laugh and go ”Wow! I get it!” The House of Mondavi by Julia Flynn Siler The Rise and Fall of an American Wine Dynasty. A great lesson on how personal feelings can cause a business to rise, fall, and rise and fall again. Thriving On Chaos by Tom Peters This is my favorite of the Tom Peters book machine. Lessons that are still valid (and largely ignored) 20+ years after publishing it. |

Aftershocker is a local band that has been playing around Northern California for many years (see photo on the True Teams page). The sound is original and brings back memories of a bygone time when I would shake, rattle, and rock and roll. Check out their site on MySpace, Facebook and at www.aftershocker.com
